North bound on a train. Take the “H” Train… Hydration
As I sit back and enjoy the scenic view on a train to New York City, I am reminded of how the air on both a train or a plane can dry the skin out. Thankfully, on the train, I am allowed to bring all of my makeup in my carry on, liquids and all.
When I was in Esthetics school, a close friend introduced me to Jane Iredale makeup. She raved about the quality of the line and how this line was truly formulated for your skin, hence the slogan “The Skin Care Makeup.” Having used makeup lines such as MAC, Laura Mercier, Chanel, Bare Minerals, Makeup Forever, and various others, I have to admit, I was a little apprehensive to try the line, at first. I tested several pieces from the Jane Iredale line and absolutely hated it. I couldn’t understand what all the “hype” was about. The mineral powder looked “cakey” and the lipstick had absolutely no staying power. However, I quickly realized it wasn’t the makeup line, but the technique I was using.
When purchasing any high-end makeup brand, it is important to ask questions. The professional is there to help you with any questions you may have about a certain product and teach you the best techniques to use for your skin type. After researching Jane Iredale makeup, speaking with a qualified Jane Iredale Advocate, and receiving a makeover, I quickly realized that this makeup really was “The Skin Care Makeup.” What a difference it made to my skin.
Now, on to the main topic of this blog: Hydration. Some of my favorite products by Jane Iredale are the hydration sprays. There are three: Balance, D2O, and Pommisst. Pommisst is my favorite; to each their own. The hydration sprays are great foundation “setters,” leaving the skin flawless and luminous. They aid in nourishing and hydrating the skin. In addition, these sprays refresh, soothe, and calm the skin. “Balance” and “D20” aids in regulating the ph of the skin. An added benefit to the “Pommisst” hydration spray is that it contains pomegranate extract, which is an antioxidant and a UV protector.
Whether on a train or a plane, Jane Iredale hydration sprays are a “must” for my carry on. Just a little spritz and your skin will feel hydrated and refreshed. And…the wonderful aroma is just an added benefit.
